Some years ago, Mr. Achrem obtained one of the largest verdicts in Nevada history in a civil case when the jury unanimously awarded $21,000,000.00 to a brain-damaged child and his family.

Another record verdict was also obtained a few months earlier in Santa Maria, California, where Mr. Achrem and his colleague, Tom Wire, successfully obtained a $1,600,000.00 judgment against the State of California in a defective guardrail case, also by unanimous verdict. So the jury would know something about the young woman who had died, Mr. Achrem put together a video tape that was shown to all the jurors during trial. The video showed the life of the young woman, from the time she was born, to the cemetery where she was ultimately buried. Mr. Achrem even did the original background music for the video itself (see his web site: www.cdpiano.com) . As a result of that judgment, the State later spent millions of dollars repairing and replacing dozens of guardrails located along Highway 101 and traveler safety was greatly improved.

Two years ago, Mr. Achrem settled a wrongful death case where another woman was run over by an 18-wheeler that came up onto the curb on which she was standing. After the lawsuit was filed on behalf of her children, the case was settled for the truck driver's full policy limits. Her 4 children now have structured settlements to help them throughout their lives.

Mr. Achrem was also able to obtain a $1,000,000.00 settlement (the adverse driver's full policy limits) in a case where a man lost his foot and sustained other serious injuries, when his truck was struck at high speed by the driver of another 18-wheeler in Northern Nevada.

In 2002, Mr. Achrem also settled a case where a young girl was savagely attacked by a pack of dogs for a confidential amount. Through the structured settlement that was established for the child, she now has money set aside for her future medical expenses, for college, and for a home when she becomes an adult. She will also be receiving monthly payments for the remainder of her life.
